The Exodus
Its has a filmic Egyptian/oriental touch to it with an odd tuning of the 12 string guitar, played with a kind of hammer like instruments from that part of the world.
My Judas
The song start with a "Number of the beast" feeling wonderfully spooked by the German metal command singer Ralf Scheepers. A very dark song for a metal band like Saint Deamon. Mystical moods almost like something from a black metal band but for sure with melodies.
In Shadows Lost From The Brave
This song shows the deepest heart of Saint Deamon. Its fast, its majestic, it melodic, a musical Belgian blue bull!
My Heart
Probably the most important song for the band that really was the song that gave us a face throughout media and internet. Its also shows a softer side of the band with a more sensitive kind of singing in the verse before going into the ultra high climax in the chorus.
The Burden
Start your engine and give it gas! This is metal to the bone with Halford aggressiveness and power. I guess only 10 people in the world could sing the song like this, without dying before the song ends.
No Mans Land
The monstrous epic metal anthem of the album. It has everything. A groovy slow section a la Metallica/Manowar then to a folk music style then going to a calm church angelic feeling before going into Armageddon with double bass and shredding solos.
Ride Forever
A verse with an odd melody never ever made in metal before with a football crowd kind of chorus. It strikes fast and precise like you've been run over by a motorcycle.
Black Symphony
A kind of "Future World" / "I Want Out" type of song. The most melodic and happy song on the album with a choral kind of chorus and twin lead solo and the song also has heavily classical influences.
Deamons
Imagine the music to "Pirates of the Caribbean" and then transform it into metal. It's majestic, it's huge, it's Saint Deamon with wind in the sails!
The Brave Never Bleeds
A kind of maiden gallop touch to it where the middle part originally was inspired of the music from "Passion of the Christ" with the fastest solo part ever recorded by any of the members.
My Sorrow
An ultra sensitive song with a lot of motions in it. The song has a different arrangement compared to the other songs of the album with piano in the front with clean guitars and fretless bass.
Run For Your Life
Imagine how the slaves worked carrying huge blocks of stone in ancient Egypt when they built the pyramids, there you have the led heavy groove of this song. Perfect closing song of the album which will make you grab a cold beer and catch a breath before setting the album on repeat again!
